They have slit-pupiled eyes, a lizard-like tail, fangs, claws, and horns. They also have scales scattered all across their bodies, though they tend to be in larger numbers on their hands, feet, shoulders, and back. Depending on the type of dragonkin, some can have rather unique features. For instance, incendium dragonkin sometimes have spikes that grow from their tail, arms, and back, though they are most well-known for the faintly glowing spot near the base of their neck, which can reveal how healthy they are based on the color and how brightly it's glowing. Incendium dragonkin can also be identified by the color of their scales, which are usually bright reds, oranges, and yellows, though they can sometimes, very rarely, have gray or black scales. Nympha dragonkin usually have some form of fins on their tail and sometimes on their arms, legs, face, back, or neck. They, too, can be identified by the color of their scales, which are commonly blue, green, or purple, though they can also sometimes be brown, tan, or even bronze or copper-colored. Arcana dragonkin, meanwhile, don't have any sort of spikes or fins, and their scales can be nearly any color, but they typically have white or pastel-colored scales, and their horns look almost as if they're made of crystal or glass. History & Culture These humanoids are the result of the goddess Pyranna giving incendium wyverns, nympha serpents, and Arcana Dragons the ability to have offspring with commonfolk. They are the children that result from these couples. They are not common, as most of the time those species tend to pick mates that are the same species as themselves, but sometimes it can happen and a dragonkin is born. They often feel like outcasts due to the fact that they are so different from both their parents and nearly everyone they will ever come into contact with. Lonely by their very nature, some dragonkin find themselves resenting Pyranna and all that she stands for, while others seek her out hoping that she may help them escape their loneliness. |
