Ruinne Race Bonus: +1 level to Magic Defense and +1 level to Cunning Abilities: Night Vision, Never Unarmed, and Rune Seer Appearance These humanoids tend to vary widely in shapes, sizes, and colors. They can be lean or they can be as buff as a dwarven, they can be as short as five feet or as tall as ten, and they can have nearly any color skin and hair. Some can even have spines protruding from their bodies or patterns like spots or stripes. They do have some shared traits, however, and those traits include slit-pupiled eyes, horns protruding from either their forehead or the top of their head, fangs, claws, digitigrade feet, and long, thin tails. Even some of these common traits can vary, however, with some have multiple sets of horns, longer or shorter horns or tails than others, and sometimes tufts of fur or bony, arrow-like tips on their tails. It's also not uncommon for Ruinne to tattoo themselves with magical runes. History & Culture It's completely unknown how the ruinne came into being, but just based on their innate connection to magic and mysterious nature alone, many assume they were created by the god Zalikos. They've made a name for themselves by discovering new kinds of magic and inventing spells to manipulate said magic. Ruinne have been the most pacifist out of all the existing humanoid races in history, and it's been that way for so long all thanks to their magical prowess. In every instance in which they've found themselves drawn into a war for one reason or another, they've always been able to avoid bloodshed using the same tactic again and again; They simply band together to create magical barriers around their towns and wait for their enemies to give up. Using magic and stored seeds, they are able to grow their own food and help each other to outlast their foes. Even despite their peaceful ways, though, they can occasionally find themselves the subject of hate due to the fact that many believe they were created by Zalikos, who is sometimes seen as a malicious god or even Theatis' rival in some stories. |
