Gambit Casting This spellcasting style is by far the newest style ever invented as of yet. To use this style, one must first have a vessel which contains magic. Using this vessel, one can pull raw magic from Zalikos' realm into theirs without draining their vessel at all. This raw magic must then be shaped in a way similar to how one would use soul magic, and then immediately cast the spell created then and there. The caster can only pull as much magic as what's in their vessel. It's called gambit casting because most spellcasting styles shape their spells within Zalikos' realm or within a vessel and then pull them into their world after. Shaping raw magic outside of Zalikos' realm or a vessel is tricky and dangerous. The magic is unstable and almost seems to have a life of it's own; Shaping it into a spell is a bit like taming a wild animal. One must be quick about it, as the longer they take, the more difficult it becomes to shape or even contain the magic. Using this spellcasting style is a bit like gambling. If you know what you're capable of and are confident you can make a guess as to what the raw magic might do once in your hands, then you're more likely to succeed, but there's always the chance of getting a wildcard. |
