Boreas The Winter Traveler God of Travel & Stories It's said that the Winter Traveler will appear to those suffering long winters or camping in blizzards as a plain-looking commonfolk who asks for a place to sit and warm up. Those who offer him a place by their fire, a blanket, or even just a coat will receive any story of their choosing from him. He could even tell them a story of their future or their ancestors if they ask. After he leaves the winter or blizzard will end early. Those who deny him a place to sit and warmth will find that the winter or blizzard lasts much longer than they anticipated. Travelers and traders often worship him at small shrines commonly found along roads and pathways. These shrines often don't look like much other than a neat stack of stones and rocks, but some people will leave empty bags, satchels, and sometimes dried food and clothing atop them as offerings to Boreas in hopes that their journey is peaceful. Those who need such items are free to take them from the shrines, but those who take without a need for it are said to be cursed by Boreas and will fall victim to many misfortunes along their travels.
